First Impressions – Title & Tagline
One of the underlying reasons for my interest in Blogging 101 is to gain a sense of direction.
I have a couple of goals for this experience.
- To have a website that my family and friends can turn to in lieu of Facebook since most of my family doesn’t do social media. (This is not that website – this is me experimenting with writing and gaining clarity).
- To have a website (the same one) that could essentially act as a supplement to my resume.
- Habits – to get in the habit/have the discipline to write everyday!!! Making my blog a priority and not a neglected ‘when I get the time’ excuse.
OK so this assignment was:
‘to edit the title and tagline’ of my blog.
The title of my website is IMBonny – that’s me. It’s meant to be a bit of a play on my name since my name is Bonny.
My surname is Dunn hence my username, ibdunn.
I have chosen to leave the title hidden on the website because I haven’t found a theme I like that doesn’t make the title garishly large and in your face. Instead I have emphasised my tagline, which is ‘thoughts and things..’. I think that’s about as descriptive as I can be on a blog for which I am clueless in terms of direction.
And let me not neglect a suspense filled video from a few years ago of Zulu the puppy (3-4 months old) at that time preparing to attack his target – Sky (my other dog about 2 years old at the time). Zulu had a goal and he achieved it that day!!

Bonny,
I liked to read about why you wanted to blog and felt it coming from your heart. I think you will become a great writer because people like to read from writers who write from their heart. It doesn’t mean that you have to reveal everything about yourself- but some thing about yourself if it does come out through your writing, there is no better thing than that.
As a reader, I would enjoy a blog like yours hugely. Keep up the good work !
Nice post! I enjoyed your use of a song. Interesting how lyrics can get in your head and give you inspiration for telling your own story.
